Сладкая герцогиня: Меган Маркл посетила открытие пекарни и дала интервью

В преддверии шестинедельного отпуска Меган Маркл развернула активную общественную деятельность. На днях герцогиня Сассекская посетила открытие пекарни Luminary Bakery, которая помогает женщинам со сложной жизненной ситуацией адаптироваться в обществе. Пекарня Luminary Bakery славится не только вкуснейшими десертами, но и тем, что берет на работу женщин, которые столкнулись с жизненными сложностями.

Герцоги Сассекские написали в своем Инстаграме, что кондитерская Luminary Bakery — это социальная организация, которая поддерживает женщин в тяжелых жизненных ситуациях (будь то жестокое обращение, бедность или торговля людьми), помогая им обрести профессиональные навыки. Сотрудники учат новеньких уверенности в себе и помогают достичь поставленных целей.

На мероприятие Меган надела рубашку оверсайз в вертикальную полоску и джинсы скинни. Наряд дополнила тонким кожаным ремешком и неброскими украшениями. Образ завершили белые кроссовки в стиле кэжуал.

For a daytime visit to the Luminary Bakery shortly after her return from South Africa, the Duchess kept things casual with her favorite formula — button-down & jeans. Shirt: With Nothing Underneath Jeans: Maybe DL1961 Earrings: Natalie Marie (not Adina Reyter! Oops!) Belt: Madewell Sneakers: Adidas x Stella McCartney The Duchess of Sussex chose a new button-down from British brand, With Nothing Underneath (WNU for short). The brand launched in 2017 with the aim of creating the “perfect (affordable) everyday boyfriend shirt”. Their 100% poplin cotton shirts are intended to be sustainable wardrobe essentials. Meghan owns at least two WNU shirts — today’s white & midnight blue striped poplin shirt ($103) and the sky blue & white stripe linen shirt ($109)- which we saw in the Smart Works Capsule Collection Shoot video in September. Again, the Duchess paired the relaxed-fit shirt with blue jeans. It’s possible that these are the DL1961 Emma Low-rise Power Skinny leggings that Meghan first wore in South Africa but the front button is different so it’s more likely they’re another yet-unidentified pair. I’ll keep you updated. She accessorized the blue jeans with a cognac leather belt from Madewell ($45). Meghan has definitely been leaning into this color for fall — it’s the third time we’ve seen cognac accessories in two months! The Duchess kept her look low-key with a pair of Stan Smith sneakers from the Adidas Collaboration with Stella McCartney. You may not know the origin of the iconic Adidas Stan Smith sneakers. Stan Smith is a former world No. 1 American tennis player who was well-known for wearing Adidas tennis shoes named after French Tennis Star, Robert Haillet. After his 1972 Wimbledon Grand Slam win, Smith became the new ambassador for the shoe — and he became so synonymous with the design that it took on his name. Over time, the classic and understated design has moved from tennis shoe to fashion sneaker and there have been multiple high-profile design collaborations! Stella McCartney’s latest collaboration launched in September 2018 made out of vegan leather for the first time in the sneaker’s history. Did you love this look?

The Duchess of Sussex looked incredible earlier this week, as she visited the newly-opened second Luminary Bakery store in North London! Meghan has always supported the organisation, which helps to empower disadvantaged women through training and employment opportunities. She even helped decorate a three-tiered cake with strawberries before making the honorary first cut to cheers. The Duchess reminded the women this week that people are always “wanting things done immediately” and needing an “instant fix” to problems, The Telegraph reports. (Meghan also had a private meeting with Bryony Gordon — a journalist for The Telegraph, who reported on the real Meghan who we all know and love.) Meghan told The Telegraph’s Bryony Gordon, “I find that when you strip all the layers away, as people, and especially as women, we can find deep connection with each other, and a shared understanding.” We should also note that she previously visited Luminary Bakery’s flagship store and included them in the September issue of British Vogue, which she guest edited. The bakery also made Meghan’s cake for her 38th birthday in August, according to Good Morning America. The creative bakers crafted a beautifully-decorated carrot cake with orange peels and pumpkin seeds placed on top alongside the message, “Happy Birthday Meghan,” written in chocolate icing.
